I wanted to know if anyone ever shared Monster or The Ladders with anyone else event though they only had 1 license. If so, did you or would you get caught and what would happen?

Thanks,
Dave

Hi Dave, I am not sure if you already got an answer to this outside of this post but I actually manage online career centers/job boards for multiple Health Care Associations nationwide - same as Monster and The Ladders just a bit more targeted and niche - and I work with employers/recruiters/agencies and I do not openly suggest this but it is a good way to save money to "share" or use one account for multiple positions/clients.

Yes they will catch you if they are reviewing their boards regularly. But who are they to say you cant post a position for CLIENT - A and not CLIENT - B. So I would post smarter and share if you can. For example if I had a client who was advertising for 3 different employers in Texas and my client (a recruiter with a staffing agency) wanted to post all 3 of his/her clients positions using an unlimited package and either post for the client as the agency or by using an alias and represent the client themselves. And honestly I do not understand why more agencies or recruiters - especially the ones that pay out of pocket - do not do this more often. So if your company were to sign up with one of my career centers in a particular state all of the recruiters could utilize the one account to post and manage their clients opportunities and advertisements.

I am not speaking for Monster or The Ladders but being in the same industry I believe that sharing is okay as long as the posting package allows and that if the location is specific to a specific state/city then it be placed with the respective job board (regarding the association career network at least).

Hope that helps and good luck!

Hi Colleen,
Thank you for your time and thoughtful response. Actually, I am not referring to posting - I brought Monster to source for example and I have more jobs than I can source myself so lets say I said to some other recruiter here's my password and told him certain times he could use the site - would Monster catch me logging in from two different places to source and could I be penalized from them? I'm just using Monster as an example could be any job board.

Thanks
Dave

Hi Dave, well I am sorry for my lengthy reply to your original question posted and now that you have explained the situation let's see if this helps. I can only speak for my job boards and there is no way that I would be able to know if the person logging into your account was you or not. So share help out your fellow recruiters.

Now lets say I noticed you or someone using your info logged in posted and their contact info was there in the post, I would contact you - the account holder - and touch base make sure that CONTACT ON POST was allowed to use your account - permission from you - and just clarify that that contact is associated with that client and you are not. This is just so I don't call you and bug you about renewing posts, admin customer service stuff. As I said this is only my perspective but you paid for a package and if you cannot utilize it where as a friend or associate could by all means go for it. I work with companies all the time that use one log in information for certain sites that the entire company can use when they need. And if you get contacted rudely about this use the above excuse - multiple recruiters in the company use same account info for the resource,

And honestly if you are dealing with job board account managers that are hassling you about that I would find another job board. Good luck and I think it is great you are sharing your stuff!!

They will catch you based on IP addresses - I know The Ladders does. I worked for an organization where one person was responsible for handling ALL Ladders request based on the fact that they had their license based on one location. If you access it from a different IP address, they will shut you down.
Wow, really I am glad you added that. My company is not that hard core and strict wow crazy. Learn something new everyday.
