What I have done in the 2 years since then is to do software support and primarily troubleshoot computers over the phone, as well as diagnose if a problem is network or computer related and get network printers to work. I know that an employer would want to know that I had exposure to all of these things, but I find that I am getting contacted about senior level positions that require on the job experience with these things. Is there a way to present this background for what it really is, so that I do not get calls about positions that I may not be qualified for, or to raise expectations of my skills / experience that may not be warranted?
Storing resumes?
The first part of the process was for the recruiter to use an applicant tracking system (ATS) to determine initial suitability. The resulting short list of candidate CVs was then scrutinised by a recruiter to ascertain the "fit" of the candidate against the role specification. The average time to say yes or no to a CV suitability was found to be just 7.6 seconds.

Interesting way to conduct a study, but if you disagree with the finding it is good to know this same firm offers resume writing services. ; )

Hello Everybody,

I have a question. A few months ago, I saw an episode of 60 minutes where they had a career consultant who said that the resume is dead?

What is your experience?

Do employers insist on seeing resumes for your candidates, or are they open to interviewing people base on your recommendations?
