Great suggestion Tony. Its always best when someone sees for themself the value of thinking more broadly and asking themselves the question of "how/where could this person add value". I'm also a big believer in looking at the opportunity cost of talent and hiring ahead of the curve. Thanks for your comment.
One of the things we do to help our HR clients influence their hiring managers to upgrade their thinking/talent is we always add at least one stretch candidate to every slate. This forces tough discussions for them internally and the HR clients see it as great assistance for them to move the OD bar forward. Sometimes they hire them and sometimes they don't but it moves their evolution forward. Sometimes it has even led to multiple placements for a single order.
