In today's world with more new technology being developed consistantly, I'm sure there are plenty of alternative methods of getting your contact details across to the recipient. But I don't think that beats the good old fashion way of handing a business card and getting your name and contact infomration into their wallet than a business card. because more chances than not they will forget your name, until they rediscover it in their wallet! Countless of business has been developed from a out of the blue phone call, which began from a introduction.
Great question Megan :]

My boss integrated the business card and modern technology by putting a QR Scanner on the back of the card. Whoever scans it, now has all my information and link to Q4B's website. Just to a cool way to cover both ends of the spectrum. Hope all is well!!

Business Cards are absolutely relevant for Recruiters! Great to leave behind after meeting candidates and leave with friends who know people in their network who might be looking for a new position. The business card provides easy access to your phone number and email address and company website. It should also convey a message on the card - something memorable showing what your company does/specializes in.

Hi Megan,

This is an interesting question. Given my business and the amount of travel along with the number of people that I connect with; both client business development and candidates alike, I like to have a business card to hand them. Ironically, I often don't have them in the special suit coat pocket. They are in the same box in my credenza in my office.(smiling) I also think it is a subconscious decision for me because I don't like the design of our cards. Sadly, they are…

Sadly, they are ugly. I suppose if I had a cool, heavy stock, smaller shape then average, memorable business card I might use them more often. I wouldn't sweat the business card unless you frequently have clients asking you for one. If you have not seen this one yet... http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=4YBxeDN4tbk

All the best,
