The often unreliable and rather disreputable Fordyce Letter published an article recently claiming that 2014 was "the best year ever for Search".

I had projected that this would be a "banner year", and it appears that my prognostications at least held true for me and for the Retained Search sector.

For me, it wasn't my best year...

It was quite close, though.  It was my second-best year out of nearly twenty-six years in the industry.  Still, it did bring some new records and was a good year for me.  I have actually seen other recruiters having a tough year, which I was fortunately spared.

Is the industry as robust overall as Korn-Ferry, Heidrick and Struggles, and other top-tier search firms seem to be demonstrating?

How are other recruiters evaluating this past year in comparison to previous years?  What are your expectations for the future?
