It is like asking a taxi driver if he drives a car. As recruiters, networking is the engine that drives our career. Or, is it? How many times have you tried to network with a colleague and the person turned you down? Linkedin invitations are sent out everyday by recruiter to another recruiter and the latter turns it down. You look to network to fill an open position and a salesperson or a recruiter of another firm says, "please delete me from your email list." I scratch my head.
By the way, I am not talking about spamming. Spamming is bad and recruiters should stay away from it. It is a nuisance and is not a productive way to network.
If we are in staffing sector, we should welcome networking. I am a technical recruiter. If you want to network with me to fill your positions or find resumes, add me to your list. tahir@softsolint.com
