Not looking to make this a political debate at all, but I always loved the documentary The War Room. As some of you know I grew up in a family very involved with politics. In fact my Mother is the Mayor of the town I grew up in. So political news and campaigns on all levels have always been something I'm fascinated by. I also happen to be a huge fan of documentaries. So easy to see why this film was always one that sucked me in if replayed on cable. I just learned this week that they made a follow up film The Return of the War Room. It looks at what (if any) lesson were learned from those that were involved with the 1992 presidential campaign. Solid documentary and a must see for anyone that liked the original.
One interesting part of the follow up was a look at how campaigns from all countries and all affiliations have adopted the need for a 'war room' to be successful. It made me think about recruiting. How would a war room look for recruiters? Would be a handful of sourcers and some social media gurus?

@Tim—
Great question. One I can respond to in this way—I actually ran one and the War Room became a strategic rallying point for: participants; strategies; tactics; alignments; project launching and results assessments. Making a War Room work make any recruitment effort come to a positive conclusion.
More to come...
@Tino -
Was this created when you worked one of your large Government recruiting drives? I would assume the amount of resources to make a war room effective would need to be applied to a larger scale type of staffing effort. I would love to learn a bit more. The follow up movie was great because it also looked at language/use of messages, need for thorough communication, and collaborative working environments. All things that are essential when it comes to being effective in the recruiting game. Really I suppose you can say it all was human element type of stuff and since we are all in the people business....yada yada yada
Keep more coming and again- these are two first rate documentaries.
