You may have figured out that
this week I am writing about my experiences in travel
last week. I ventured outside of my native Orange County, CA where I was able to meet several individuals whom I have conversed with online but whom have, somehow, eluded the actual meeting ground where a handshake (but in most cases a hug took place) IRL - in real life.
I met several individuals from the recruitosphere that have made an impact on my life, how I write, how I recruit..,
how I view my world. But to Sarah White of "I'm So Corporate" and HRM Direct- thanks for sharing the brutality of being honest. Who you are seeps through your words, hand shake, and lilting voice. Yes, the tigers come at night but your voice rings clear, knocking them to the ground with the surprising strength of who you have become. Smile, my sweet, for it throws them off guard and makes them wonder what you have been up to. :-)
After my brush with the greatness that exudes twitter, RecruitingBlogs.com and blog-SEO, I broached the joy that is Minneapolis. My promotions team resides and works in Minny. It made perfect sense for me to venture into this space that designs my promotional ideas, taking them to the next level. Peacock Promotions has not only served my company well, but the design team stands at the ready for our next command - instruction. Greatness lies at our front door. Even if that door 2,500 miles away.
My time in Minneapolis was short-lived but the lessons learned rival that of the greatest text books. Life happens whether you want it to or not. Your next client or candidate is as near as you want them to be. What you know, what you are able to determine should never stall you out or alter your change of course, if change is necessary. The stars? They lie just beyond reach but are not unattainable.
Imagine..., it's easy, if you try.
I still cannot get over what I learned the first few days here, nor what I learned or gained over the last.
Sometimes, you learn more by listening.
Oh, and bartering never hurt anyone. Debate does not exist to simply mark time or to cruise similar ground,
teaching or learning the same things over and over again.
Listen to driving words from driven individuals and groove while you can.
Life moves pretty fast...
