I agree with you but I am talking about the changing trend whereby 10 years back companies use to heavily depend on Executive Search and Recruitment Agencies. So the closures too were easier. At that point of time companies were more concerned about getting the best candidate without being worried about the cost. But now with the cost cutting mindset companies preferred to use alternative sources and they may use the best candidates they could have hired by using an Executive Search firm.

Yes, I agree relationships with both employers and candidates have become much more important in the current scenario over the years.
