We have an unlimited opportunity to place professionals of all types in ex-patriot assignments in Saudi Arabia. As you may know, there are about 6 million ex-patriots running the country at the operational level, and they “need everything.” They have Midas’s problem, which is they must invest about US$1 billion every week between now and 2020. This represents a monumental opportunity for people “in the know” to put aside a “nest egg” and gain experience at a higher level than one can achieve with similar qualifications and experience in the USA, Europe or Japan.
Hey Heather! I know we gotta keep meeting like this. LOL! I can explain the tiny url thing gladly. Do you need to know how to shrink or why to shrink? :-)
Thanks for the message. Yes, we did work at Volt during the same time. I was trying to place you after I saw your name on this blogsite and honestly, I knew your name but nothing else was coming up for me. I think you worked in SFO or Mountain View...is that correct? You, me, Annette Fletcher from Portland and Martha Kroodsma in the Cleveland area were throwing up the best numbers for a while. I then joined Pat Cronin's training and development team and we go serious about developing the program for professional placement at Volt. I had a great run with the company and left formally and finally in May of 2004. I then joined the ranks of corporate recruiting and worked for a high tech company (Tektronix) and moved into a Sr Recruiter role. I was there 3.5 yrs and then off to ESI (ElectrovScientific Industries) as a Staffing Manager. That position is jut over 3 months new and the jury is out.
How are you doing? Are you an independent recruiter or are you attached to a firm? I hope you're doing well, Heather. I still get together with Annette Fletcher as I live in Portland now...moved from Seattle ~5 yrs ago. I also still communicate with many of my past colleagues from Volt.
Let's continue to communicate...I love that you remembered me.
Hi Heather, thanks for the comment about my pic! "Baghead" is our corporate mascot - he represents all the old-school resumes that are out there. :)
Speaking of, you should get a VisualCV yourself. I noticed that you've got the Heidrick & Struggles story about "Facebook for the Seven-Figure Set" on your blog. I'm the relationship manager for our work with Heidrick.
Contact me if you want some help getting your VisualCV setup. I can also get you a VisualCV button for your blog. See Guy Kawasaki's blog for an example : http://blog.guykawasaki.com/
Hey Heather, thanks for the "welcome aboard" email. Actually, our HQ is in Silicon Valley (Campbell, CA)....and there's no way we are letting go of our talent! :)
Thanks for checking in. I'm still in the market, however, the feedback is slow or zilch. I did have few interviews (with Pinstripe and GE Health Care). I thank you and appreciate all the help you provided for recruiting links. It has helped me a lot.
I think the knock on resume is that I still haven't completed my Bachelors from perspective client's point of view. It's bullshit, really. Maybe, I should have completed my education when I had the opportunity but I decided to learn the business on my own. As of now, if the right opportunity comes along, I will take it. Else, I will just keep building my network from here and Linkedin, and also try to develop business for the minority-owned company that I am currently working for.
Do you by chance have contacts that have openings for BAs openings in California? I have a candidate, currently in Milwaukee, who is looking for contract/permanent opportunities in California. Let me know if you've one.
I was just browsing job portals, and there are tons of openings in California. My friend has a strong background in Java development and Microsoft .NET. Was hoping if you have some referrals. I'd love to forward her contact details to you.
Do you want to take this social networking thing off-line and pull together a Bay Area recruiters Happy Hour next month? I'll be working out of SF the week of July 14th and would love co-arrange something with you.
I have to say "thanks" for all of your twitter info.. it's been so helpful.. and I also didn't realize that we are not connected here at RB! Look forward to more tweets and sharing to come!~
Many thanks!~ and Happy 4th to you and your family.

Thanks for the note. I recently became a member of RecruitingBlogs and found it to be a great place to network outside of the traditional methods.
I also see a great presence of Bay Area folks.
