Hello Slouch, In response to your email requesting individual blogging of ideally what we would like to see on Recruitingblogs.com: I am looking for help as a 2+ year Independently Contracted Recruiter to break out of the shell and make it on my own or enjoy splits or gain overall knowledge of how to make it in the recruiting world. What should a contract look like? How do I get my foot in the door with my own recruiting contracts? I was brought into the Recruiting world by a firm that requested me to start my own S-corp and become an Independently Contracted Recruiter, I was formally in the Life Sciences and because of a layoff, gave the recruiting world a whirl. I made immediate impact, when embarking into pharmaceutical sales recruiting I initially had no idea what was to be expected of me, but through consistent networking and communication rapidly not only started making placements but also building solid relationships with hiring managers and candidates alike. My pwn personal database has grown consistently though my own efforts, as well as have contributed significantly to the database of the firm I am contracted with.

What options do I have as an Independently Contracted Recruiter? I am no longer patient to sit back and wait until the firm I am contracted through calls me with a job to fill; I am no longer patient to be splitting fees while doing most of the work. I do not feel that I am in control of the success of my own business...and not only do I want to be but no I possess the skills to do so.
Any thoughts would be greatly appreciated!
