But then, I realized I do not know if these people are happy or not, maybe they are happier than we are; content end enjoying life. They were actually having a nice walk and getting some fresh air when I was on my way to work.</p>
<p>We should compare this with our professional lives, we could think we have a good career or on the contraire, we do not know if it is really greener on the other side.</p>
<p>There some questions YOU should ask yourself, if you are thinking on making a career move:</p>
<ol>
<li>What are the reasons I want to make a move? Make a list</li>
<li>Are these things variables that you can affect or make a change?</li>
<li>Have you try to change them?</li>
<li>Have you ask your Manager for an increase or a promotion?</li>
<li>After making a list of the 5 most important things to have in your job/career, compare with the list in question #1 (reasons to leave your job) How many are in both lists?</li>
<li>What would happen if you leave? (how would you affect the company's plans?)</li>
<li>What would happen to YOU if you leave (financially and career wise)?</li>
</ol>

<span style="font-family: tahoma,arial,helvetica,sans-serif;">In one of my daily visits to Downtown Toronto I lost my "favorite" glove on my way back home. It was too late when I figured it out, I was already on the train. But, being positive as I am most of the time, I thought and hoped that I would find it. The next day on my way to work I made sure I took the exact same route I did the day before when leaving the office.</span><br/> <br/><span style="font-family: tahoma,arial,helvetica,sans-serif;">And guess what? I found it. On the top of a fence. Somebody found it before me, picked IT up and put it high on a near fence, at an eye level view. Isn't this fantastic??? There's still polite human beings, someone who had the nice gesture to pick <a href="http://storage.ning.com/topology/rest/1.0/file/get/1557499206?profile=original" target="_self"><img width="750" class="align-left" src="http://storage.ning.com/topology/rest/1.0/file/get/1557499206?profile=RESIZE_1024x1024" width="244" height="159"/></a>it up from the ground (it would it covered by snow by the next morning and I probably would not be able to see it) and made sure they put it where I could see it.</span><br/> <br/><span style="font-family: tahoma,arial,helvetica,sans-serif;">Thanks, I wanted to thank that individual and any decent person out there, for doing something so simple and at the same time made my day.</span><br/> <br/><span style="font-family: tahoma,arial,helvetica,sans-serif;">Let's keep it rolling..... do something today, something simple, something that would bring a smile to a stranger's face; hold the door for someone else, say "good day" to a random person, help an elderly and then SPREAD THE WORD if anyone does or has a nice gesture with you.</span><br/> <br/><span style="font-family: tahoma,arial,helvetica,sans-serif;">Let's surround us by goodness and warm thoughs that will make everybody happy around us and why not, that will make us have a better life.</span></div>

<p></p>
<p></p>
<div><br/></div>
<div>Last week I had to terminate a contract prematurely.<div><br/></div>
<div>The Good:</div>
<div>I was really amazed with my candidate's reaction when I called to inform him of the sudden ending of his contract. That day was to be his final day of work. His attitude was very positive. He told me (with a smile)"this happens in contract business and that life goes on!"</div>
<div><br/></div>
<div>The Bad:</div>
<div>The early termination of the contract was not based on poor performance, on the contrary, my candidate's deliverables were outstanding. The project was far ahead of schedule in great part because of his contribution. He was able to accomplish in a week what was forecast to take eight weeks.</div>
<div><br/></div>
<div>The Unqualified:</div>
<div>Even though performance was not an issue, I had to terminate a contract of a very good candidate. On far too many ocassions companies are not able to retain excellent human assets because of lack of planning. Considerable time and effortwas put into this hiring process, finding the right candidate, qualifying, interviews, preparation, locking down the price, for just a week of work.</div>
<div><br/></div>
<div>The challenge would be not only finding the right candidate for the right job, but also qualifying the client's scope and duration of projects.</div>
