Recruiting takes a holiday? NEVER!

Recruiting takes a holiday – leverage your position!

Woo-Hoo – a Holiday, Right? I mean, you’re probably thinking about staying up all night Sunday (probably trying some Jello Shot recipes) watching the Muscular Dystrophy Telethon and closing Monday afternoon out with a BBQ.

I don’t blame you. Before I was a big biller that’s how I spent my holiday time,… Continue

Well, it IS Friday - can you say "Jello Shots"?

Now don't get the impression I'm encouraging you to overdo this weekend, and certainly don't think that I will (I'm very conservative you know).

That being said (because everything on the net is immortal), here are some suggestions for you on how you might choose to spend your evening:

Traditional Jello Shots

10oz Vodka

2 (3 oz) packages of Jello

What the Boy Scouts taught me about Recruiting

What the Boy Scouts taught me about Recruiting

A short but sweet reminder to those of you who make it difficult for the rest of us.

When I was in the Boy Scouts I learned a thing or two about making sure whoever follows me feels warm and invited. What I mean is this:

The 30/30/40 rule and why it MATTERS!

The 30/30/40 rule really separates the winners from the losers.

The thing is, though, it's so simple - people don't get it.

THE 30/30/40 RULE

30% of the people you meet are going to like you right away, for a reason they can't… Continue

Email Sourcing? You bet!

What?!?

Q: But Art, isn't email sourcing in the domain of lazy recruiterdom?

A: If you can reach more ppl with a tool you're NOT using - THAT'S lazy!

For some reason, a couple of times a month someone will give me a referral to someone I'm looking for by senging me an email with a name and an email address - no other information.

I actually know the reason.

The people providing the information for me are very… Continue

Paying Referral Fees

If I'm recruiting for a real Purple Squirrel or asking a LOT from potential candidates (for example, I'm currently performing a confidential search for a client in which I cannot divulge the company, the location or the specific job title - and neither do they in the phone screen) I think ultimately it's worth it to make a spliff available if someone helps close a deal by directing me to my superstar.

However,… Continue
