What makes me a smart recruiter?

I'm not exactly one to break my arm patting myself on the back too much, but strive to work smarter all the time. The following are some of the reasons why I feel I am a smart recruiter.

Organization

Keeping my ATS up to date keeps track of candidates, interviews, etc. This is not the area in which I work hard to be organized. I strive to make sure I have control over the flow of my day as much as possible. I keep track of when I know I am most productive. During those times I… Continue

On the lighter side...

Wow - lots of action over the last day or so for Rick P. (Jack Roth?)'s new service to sell job leads to folks. The response hasn't been good for the most part and although he did open the can of worms, it still seems like a lot of negativity for one post.

When is it OK to fire your client?

Maybe I'm just thinking out loud, but it seems that for every great customer you find, there are a handful you are indifferent to, and a couple that can make your blood boil at the drop of a hat. The list of offenses is a mile long and could be anything from never giving specific feedback on disqualifications up to refusing to pay a fee. No matter what the transgression, recruiters still need to make placements to get paid, so when do you move a company from the 'client' to the 'source'… Continue

High impact college recruiting on a small budget

Considering the current economic climate, most organizations are tightening their collective belts when it comes to cash expenditures. The area that seems to be targeted very quickly is recruiting and hiring budgets. Whether your company or customers have placed hiring on freeze or simply slowed things down, it is almost a sure thing that the action taking place is being done with less money being spent. Unfortunately, people looking for a job don't care what our budget looks like, they want a… Continue
