Demand for Human Resource Professionals with Social Media Skills Continues to Grow

We are starting to see growing demand for Human Resources professionals with knowledge, skills and experience in social media.  In July, 438 job ads for Human Resource jobs included social media skills in their job requirements – up 140% from July 2010.

July Breaks Record with Online Job Ads for Registered Nurses

Employers and staffing firms posted more than 103,000 new online jobs for Registered Nurses, a new 4-year high for this occupation. As the most in-demand job in the US, hiring demand in July increased by 40% from the previous month and 69% from July 2010.

Job Market Concerns Haven’t Stopped Hiring Demand for Recruiters

Computer Specialists with Mobile Skills in Demand on the West Coast

Hiring demand for Computer Specialists with mobile skills has increased tremendously so far in 2011.  Over the past 90 days, there have been more than 33,000 new online job ads for IT professionals with mobile skills.  The West Coast has seen the highest hiring demand, with over 7,700 ads placed.

Physical Therapists Still Difficult to Find in Many Locations

With hiring demand levels second only to Registered Nurses within the Healthcare sector, Physical Therapist positions remain difficult to fill, raising concerns about a talent shortage. How difficult is it to find Industrial Engineers?

Industrial Engineers are in high demand these days, with online job ads up 65% nationally since the beginning of 2011. Employers and staffing agencies posted over 21,500 new online job ads in May, the highest ad volume in the past four years. Another 21,250 new ads were posted in June, a slight dip from May but still 52% higher than June 2010.

Why is it difficult to recruit for marketers?

Despite rising unemployment, employers and staffing firms continue to place an increasing volume of job ads for marketing positions each month, making it one of the most difficult jobs to recruit for.  In May, more than 24,000 new ads were posted, the highest volume in the past 4 years. Demand for Registered Nurses Slips in June

Registered Nurses continue to be the most in-demand occupation in the US by a considerable margin, with 86,541 new online job ads posted by employers and staffing agencies in June. Hiring demand for RNs declined slightly last month, with a 2% dip, but still holds on to gains of more than 56% in 2011.

Tech Hiring Hits a 4-Year High in June, Despite a Dismal BLS Report

Even with the increased concern and political rhetoric about flat jobs growth and unemployment in the US, it's no secret that IT professionals are in demand. IT hiring demand has been increasing rapidly throughout the 1st half of this year, up 56% percent since the beginning of the year. Employers and staffing agencies posted more than 251,500 new online job ads for IT professionals in June, up 1.7% from May.

Employment for the Financial Services Industry Keeps Growing in 2011

Despite the Fed recently lowering the US economic and employment forecasts, employment in the financial services industry is growing.  Over the past 60 days, financial organizations posted more than 100,000 new online job ads – a 24% increase from the same 60-day period in 2010.  In fact, job ads within this industry have been booming since the beginning of the year, now up 19% from January.

New York City Hiring Demand Gains 46%; Web Developers in Short Supply

New York City area employers and staffing agencies posted more than 80,200 new online job ads jobs in May, up 23% over May 2010. Demand has now rebounded from the drop in April and has gained 46% since the beginning of this year.

Manufacturers in California - Looking for Engineers

Manufacturers have increased the number of online job ads steadily in 2011.  Despite being nowhere near the industry high in 2007, they are ramping up recruiting in several fields, including Engineering.  In May 2011, the manufacturing sector placed more than 13,000 new online job ads for Engineers and broke a 4-year record number of ads by manufacturers for this field.

Market for Social Media Skills Heats Up for Summer

Social Media continues to be a hot topic, and the job market for those with social media skills and experience keeps getting hotter. In April we took a look at online job posting activity for the search phrase "social media" and found 19,000 new ads for the previous 60 days. Nursing Shortage Continues - Demand for RNs up 53% in 2011

Employers and staffing agencies posted over 121,000 new job ads for Registered Nurses in May, up 46% from May 2010. About 10% of that growth, or 12,700, were ads placed for positions at General and Surgical Hospitals, where annual turnover rates for RNs average 14% according to a recent KPMG survey. Hiring Demand for Recruiters Continues to Grow Despite Recent Employment Reports

Although the pace of US job growth appears to be slowing for most sectors, hiring demand for recruiters by corporate HR departments and staffing agencies has boomed this year, up 64% since January. On a year-over-year basis, demand was up 36% over May 2010, with over 10,100 new job ads posted. Hiring by direct employers made up the bulk of this activity, with over 6,600 ads or 66% of overall demand.
