5 Ways to get Candidates to your Recruiting Hub!

On a post I did last week, Don’t Hide your Company Culture, Flaunt It!, I received some interesting comments & discussion on where candidates actually go when researching a company to get a feel for how it would be to work there.  Do they go to the company’s Career Site?  Do they search on Twitter?  Do they reach out to an employee on LinkedIn?  Do they look the company up on…

Pay For Performance is here to stay for recruiting!

Pay for Performance is something everyone always strives to achieve.  Whether it’s buying a new car, being Theo Epstein (the General Manager of the Boston Red Sox) or placing an advertisement for your company, you are always seeking ultimate value you are receiving from the resources that you dedicate to a specific commodity.  The more value for each dollar you can earn, the better.  This is especially true in this economy when you are looking to recruit top talent to your…

Does your Interview process match your Work Environment?

So we’ve all seen it.  A candidate goes 2 rounds of behavioral interviews, everyone loves them then they get into the actual role and fizzle.  Whether it’s a disconnect with overall fit or a overall lack of tangible skills for the position, it’s always an unfortunate position to be in.  The real question, is how can you ensure this happens less often or better yet prevent it altogether?

The answer might be as simple as testing their skills to make sure they fit the…

Don’t Hide your Company Culture, Flaunt It!

Yesterday, I was able to be part of something pretty cool.  I was invited to SkyZone in Dedham to play some really fun trampoline dodgeball.  But that wasn’t the really cool part (well not all of it).  What was really cool was it was a company wide outing of a friend of mine that I was able to finagle my way into.  The do competitive fun events like this every month or so (it was F1 racing before that) and every employee gets involved.  Not only are these great team building exercises but…

Make it a Productive Snow Day!

[Note: This was written as we are getting pelted with snow and freezing rain for the past two days in Boston]

As a kid, I loved snow days.  It was a free day to play outside with friends and just simply not doing anything productive.  It was just pure fun.  The problem was that instead of doing homework with some free moments during the day, I would always wait till the last minute and have a race to the finish to get it completed.

As an adult, I see…

When extra "Manpower" doesn't mean a new employee!

It is becoming increasingly important in today’s economy that every company needs to try and do more with less.  And in no place is it more present than in the recruiting sector.  Recruiting organizations consistently are asked to do more with their ever decreasing set of resources.

But not all’s lost as recruiting organizations are consistently finding ways to improve their processes and cut the fat of their overall…
