Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year! In this Christmas Special, Jim Stroud remembers previous Christmases and ponders what is really important. Special thanks to the Stroud Family for pitching in on this episode.
DO THIS NOW!
Thanks as always for sharing Jim! Happy holidays to you and your entire family. Continued success in 2012.
Thanks. Your “Merry Christmas [video]” is an example of “Christmas Spirit” in its purist form—giving something of value: your time, talent (directing, acting, stunts, production, catering, and vision); recruiting family member’s time, talent, patience and support (your daughter is a scene stealer); recruiting family pet’s time, talent, patience and support…and fact that no one was hurt in the production of this video (hopefully).
Jim, it is pioneering efforts like your, in this video, that will inspire others to put family members and pets, in harms way, for the purpose of entertaining others. No-budget movie makers all started out in this way and some succeeded greatly. The cast of “characters”; the dialogue, the lighting & background music, the dramatic acting and action scenes--with no stunt-doubles is unbelievable. Your script was spell-binding; and the editing had to be difficult—having to leave out so much good footage to keep it under 10 minutes had to be painful.
I applaud your effort as anyone who has ever experimented with shooting a video knows—it ain’t easy. Keep them coming and I’m sure one will go viral big-time and make you even more famous than you are now.
BTW--I especially liked the fall-down scenes where you showed promise a la Buster Keaton. I recommend incorporating stairs in your next video falling down scene with you acting—and please use a slo-mo sequence—that would attract even more viewership.
Merry Christmas to you and yours...
