I thought it was a great show today. That was my feeling while we were doing it. The pace was pretty fast, there was some relevant content and the guest seemed comfortable with the "culture" of the show. So, of course, I got slammed on the aftershow. I don't know what it is with these guys. They either over-rate me or under-rate me but they are rarely spot on.

Mind you, that's what I like about the Recruiting Animal Show - they get to air their opinions even if I don't agree. Though I must say that I was taken to task for muzzling conversation about explosive and irrelevant topics. But I don't care.

And, yes, I did cut Nate off and he's smart but sometimes he sounds like he's a professor in a lecture hall. And, yes, I did cut Carmen off - but if her point is clear after the first ten words why does she have to go on for twenty? Tell me, I want to know.

Thanks to my guest, The @PeopleShark for coming on. Here is her very impressive Linkedin profile.

And thanks to @CathyMannis, @NateSigma, @AlaRecruiter, @1CoraMae@Sponng and @Jerry_Albright for sharing their opinions.

I only heard bits and pieces but I thought it was good. I think I need to change my twitter handle to @AmyAla since you keep calling me that.

It said @AmyAla but linkedin to @AlaRecruiter - Now both are the latter.

AlaRecruiter makes sense except for Ala which is meaningless and is not easily recognizable as a name. AmyRecruiter is much much better bcz both terms have easily understood meanings.

No matter what name you choose I wd stick with Amy and cut out Ala.

I like Ala.  It has a certain je ne sais quoi.

Thanks Maisha and Bill. I like Ala. You'd be amazed how many people call me by my last name. Do you know how many Amy's there are in the world??? Besides, at least I have capital letters in the right places. Plus it's a palindrome...

Exactly thank you Maisha! :)

And apparently we can't win either.  You get mad because we don't ask questions during the show, and then voice that opinion afterwards.  And now you get mad when I ask questions during the show.  It's okay, we will get it down at some point.

The only reason I mentioned your cutting me off was that your guest created a product that tweets jobs, and then said basically that social media in the corporate recruiting space was pointless.  I was trying to clarify what the story is.

We in the 3rd party recruiting space feel that twitter is pointless (a'la Jerry and myself any maybe others) and here you have a guest that basically is saying (i think) that it's pointless in the corporate space.

Nate, when you will ever learn. I like people to state opinions and ask questions. But I don't like them to talk low. And I don't like them to run on. That's why there is a no thinking rule in place. Ideas have to be ready to roll and stated in a fast hard clear way. Whack em over the head with it. Don't try to seduce them with your silky FM tones.
