I agree with your recommendation of the WSJ app, which I use daily during my morning workouts. Kayak is a nice iPad app for planning trips. Dragon Dictation cuts down on typing, and the AIM for iPad app keeps me in touch with my contacts, at least until Apple offers a native iPad version of iChat.
