I agree that there is a level of "gold" to be found in LinkedIn...<br />
At first, I was leery of connecting with other recruiters (who may steal my business through my network) but found that other recruiters can "trade" with you - one candidate/connection for another, etc... BUT... I would say you need to form the relationship and evaluate the reputation of their company (as you always should) prior to "doing business" with them. Keep on connecting!<br />

I'm focused on business development for a contingent recruiting firm in San Diego, CA. I'm fairly new to the business...do you have any tips for the best use of time while prospecting? I.E., 30 cold calls a day, canvassing twice a week, etc.? Previously I was a lender rep, where our prospects almost expected us to walk in cold. I'm finding this industry is a bit different.
