Unfortunately, at the time of mass layoffs, the overwhelming rumor, wives tale, urban legend's if you will, were that the person's being let go were of a "political disatisfaction, sub-par knowledge and work ethic, and generally social pariah" ilk that the companies wanted to eliminate anyway. The vast majority are not of that character definition--- and those companies who discriminate should be prosecuted to the full extent of the law-- whenever that's passed.

<p>It's unfortunate that some employers/hiring managers need to be reminded that considering an unemployed job applicant does not necessarily mean they are forgoing the pursuit of quality candidates. Quality candidates for employment actually exist in the unemployment line.</p>
