<p>I think you make a lot of good points, eg making eye contact, using the interviewers name, chatting with the receptionist. However, I'm not sure about number 2 - the shoes. If anything, it should be included in number 3 - appropriate clothing. I personally have never deliberately looked at a candidates shoes.</p>

One thing I have learned in life is that people who can carefully control the discomfort of others, and avoid it in themselves, are more often the ones who move and shake the world.
