Hi Keith, many thanks for your comments and yes this is very much about third party recruiters. I like your analogy and comparison to a fine wine, that is a fine compliment to the recruitment specialists and it is definitely the case that we may only work with some of our customers on a few specialist occasions. Thanks again.

Thanks, Michelle. I gather you're discussing third-party recruiters? As a contract recruiter, I believe that highly skilled 3PRs are invaluable, having expertise, skills, networks, and backgrounds that are required in the most difficult circumstances, and are well-worth a 30% fee (here in the U.S.). As a contract recruiter, I believe that highly skilled 3PRs are invaluable, having expertise, skills, networks, and backgrounds that are required in the most difficult circumstances, and are well-worth a 30% fee (here in the U.S.). If you don't need something like that, you can have it done for a very small fraction of that amount. As an example: I know that often offshore resume- sourcers who cost USD $1000/mo are used by 3PRs who then charge 20% fees, when the end-client could get the same people going directly to the resume-sourcers.

BOTTOM: LINE: Exceptional 3PRs are like a fine wine which is only for special occasions. If you try to get quality on the cheap, you're likely to be sorely disappointed you're either underpaying for high-level work or over-paying for low-level work.
