Minimum wage hikes are all the rage these days. My own adopted hometown of Seattle recently approved $15 / hr minimum wage. Not be outdone, the CEO of…

Man did this ever ruffle feathers… a small company in San Diego is hiring not ONE but TWO awesome developers. Instead of bothering with a laundry list of must haves and educational requirements, they dropped an F-bomb laden missive on Craigslist targeted at a certain kind of developer. You know, the kind that has a sense of…

Get a room full of recruiters and inevitably the subject of “passive versus active candidates” will come up. Active candidates are the ones who apply – the ones pursuing open roles by completing online applications and such. Passive, on the other hand, are talented folks who would NEVER consider a role if not for some savvy recruiter presenting…

Hi, Amy...
I am new here and am catching up on old posts.
"...great agency recruiters act in the best interest of whoever's writing the check. Nice crap-stirring post though I'll give you that..."
Brava!
See 'ya....
Paul
Oh wait...so does every friend see this?
If so...."no bueno"
My email is dmongello@trilogyhr.com if you want to ping me.
Good luck on the new gig btw.
Thanks, Amy. Thank goodness for this page and network of recruiters. I love it.
Thanks for the reply Amy. It sounds like you (or your UK people) have it well covered and I am not sure Zones would be in my sweet spot (finding C/VP level staff for early stage software start-ups) - but, heh, if anything does come up you (or they) think I could help with, I always say a conversation is never wasted. I am very open and honest about what I can and cannot do with clients and potential clients so I wouldn't take something on I couldn't deliver on.
Anyway, as I say, it sounds like you guys have it covered. Good to touch base with you.
All the best,
Dyll
Hi Amy,
Sorry for the rather random wall post out of the blue but I have seen a few of your posts on RB and you seem a very sensible and knowledgeable internal recruiter. I checked out the Zones website and it seems you guys are soley US based which probably means I can't be of much help to you (more than your existing US based recruitment partners at least) as I am UK based and specialise in mainly start-up companies based or looking to set up in Europe/EMEA. . . but if that ever changes let me know.
It is refreshing to hear an internal recruiter who understands the value of a good external head-hunter. You clearly know your job and your company's needs and know that working with good 'externals' can help you achieve your goals too.
Apologies again for the random post but I thought I'd take some time to point that out :-)
Amy -
Thanks for connecting! I really enjoy the content you put out and I look forward to tackling some other 'debates' out here!
Dear Amy,
Would you please share your email id? I want to ask you for professional advice in the field of recruiting.
Regards,
Brigadier Maindiratta
