Amy,

I could not agree more with your comments.  I feel absolutely no obligation to return a phone call or an email soliciting business.  However, if the approach and content are informative and professional, I am much more inclined to listen, consider, and respond. I am also turned off by atrocious spelling, grammar, and sentence construction. This tells me something about the individual and the attention to detail and quality. Call me old school, but I maintain that using proper and correct English is an essential tool for conducting business. I recognize that in our high tech, fast-paced world we all use abbreviations and shortcuts for some emails, tweets, and instant messages. But I expect a level of professionalism in a request to conduct business.
