Why should you listen and participate in social media?

The answer is simple; the power to define and control a brand is shifting from corporations and institutions to individuals and communities. This means, for employers you must include social media tools in your marketing strategies along with being proactive with their presence. People trust other people rather than advertisements and mass media.

 Who can do it?

When creating a company profile, the maker must be a credible, passionate, authentic person from your company. They must be able to talk to your ideal audience all the time, whether you are hiring or not. Provide value.  Keep ideal candidates coming back for more, get them on your web site, create reasons for website and social media stickiness.

Most importantly, how can Social Media benefit your business?

Social Media is the new great way to generate exposure; it opens up any company to new areas that you might not have been in before. It has the ability to increase traffic. Nearly two thirds of all adults claim to be using some sort of Social Media site, that’s more than double the percentage that reported social networking site usage in 2008. Social Media builds partnerships, people want to do business with people they know and trust. Companies must establish customers and become someone they want to be friends with before they try and sell them something. Finally it can bring in qualified leads. Even though your “friends” might now be looking, maybe their friends are or friends or their friends. This can open up a whole new world of candidates just wait to hear the right opportunity from you.
