We’ll admit right out of the gate that this is one blog post that directly relates to the type of business we run at ShinyNeedle. In order to write this post we had to mention our website, and we had to discuss challenge based hiring. There are hundreds of job posting websites available today. We just recently posted an article on how to manage the extremely large world of job posting websites. There are some that provide zero value, and some that have a bigger brand and have found ways to provide a solid level of value. Regardless the question is where is the value and what’s the point of posting jobs online. First and foremost it’s getting a message to a mass audience. There is no question that if you get on the right job website you will see scores of resumes. Our stance is that it’s become saturated and lost the value of job postings in the process of the mass posting of resumes. Companies, recruiters, and job seekers all need to demand more from the entire process. There is far to much time committed to the process of hiring and posting online for the return on investment. Therefore the question is how to best use a service such as ours for job posts?

The answer starts with your business. You need to dig deep and look at your business to figure out what kind of resources are crucial to growing that business. Many of the companies that we speak with tell us that they get a lot of false positives when they actually bring someone in as a full time hire. Honestly we don’t believe this is generally because of misleading interviews, but because the business and the skill-set don’t line up appropriately. That in a nutshell is what ShinyNeedle.com provides to the employer and job recruiter. It’s a way to say hey here is a job we have open, but more importantly this is what we need you to do with your skills in that job.

The challenge process or creating your own will result in a quality match of employer and job seeker. If you're already doing something along these lines maybe it could use a slight tweak too. Think about how you want to phrase your posts in a very critical way on any website you choose to post jobs. It’s completely worth the effort. You’ll end up in the end getting an individual that truly balances both skills and business application in a seamless way. That makes everyone happy from the job search through the job hire and beyond.
