Streamline Your Hospitality Recruitment

If you work in the catering hospitality industry the chances are you will be extremely busy. Therefore, finding the time to recruit the people you need can sometimes be a problem. Fortunately, there is now way to speed up the process and make your recruitment processes far more effective.

The first step

The first step is to visit the caterer.com website. There you can easily post your vacancies within just ten minutes.

All you need to do is to make sure that you have already typed out the job description and have to hand important details such as the salary you are willing to pay. If you want to you can fill out the salary field with the words ‘salary to be advised’. However, it is probably better if you actually include the actual salary you are going to pay. That way you can avoid people applying for the job, coming for interview and accepting the job only to contact you later and turn the role down when they find out that the salary is too low for them.

See how others are advertising similar roles

If you have never used an online job board before it makes sense to take a few minutes to look around. By looking at how others are advertising posts that are similar to yours, you can get some good ideas.

It will also allow you to see how much they are paying and give you the opportunity to match their salaries. Doing so will ensure that you quickly attract applicants. If your wages are lower than the average for the area you may find that less people will apply. However, if you do not need someone urgently this is not really a big problem.

Why use a specialist job board?

Of course, if you want to you can advertise your catering and hospitality jobs anywhere online. Classified websites and general job boards are quite happy to accept your adverts.

However, advertising in these places is not as effective as using a jobs board that targets those who are looking for work within the hospitality industry. There is a danger that if you advertise on general job boards you will get a far higher percentage of unsuitable applicants. This is because many people believe that working within the hospitality industry is easy. Therefore, they are more likely to apply for jobs for which they do not have the right qualifications and experience. This can leave you having to plough through dozens of applications from people who are not suitable for the job. When you consider that to skim read each application takes around 5 minutes you can see that you could easily waste many hours doing this.

On the other hand, if you post your job on a website that specialises in handling hospitality vacancies the vast majority of applicants will be suitable. You should, therefore, find yourself dealing with less applications overall and find that more of the applicants have the qualifications and experience that you need.
