This is part 8 in my Fall Sourcecon roundup, highlighting the presentations at Sourcecon Oct 2015.

This post is the opening  Session of the second day entitled “ A look to the Future: Machine Learning and Talent Sourcing” By Dave Copps.

This session is his view of a look into the future for sourcing.  It focuses on the coming shift to ML/Ai (Machine Learning and Artificial Intelligence) and that this will change who we are as sourcers.

He goes on as to how ML/AI are being used every day with Siri and Cortana and how the AI for Sourcing is coming. ML is already here and used in most TAS/CRMs. However he feels AI is the next step. For me the big question is what does it mean for Sourcers. He does not go into too much detail here. However for me the realization is Ai will not replace sourcers, only make their jobs easier. No program or machine can accurately account for “the human condition”. So the need for sourcers will remain, just some of the functions they perform will change
