The concept of employer branding has nowadays become an important trend for companies to attract best talent and also retain their employees via the organisation’s reputation and its value proposition.

As modern recruitment lovers here at skeeled, today we will focus on three main aspects that shape a fruitful employer branding and talent attraction strategy within the online world – where candidates are found in the present – and the right use of HR technology when conducting the recruitment process.

Getting the right message: a proper job description clearly stating your organisation’s mission, vision, and values is the first step to take into account. What makes us so unique and differentiated from the rest? What are our goals and how attractive are they in the eyes of the candidates we want to target? Why are our employees so happy working with us? Not only a nice piece of text is attractive, nowadays users are also looking for content: a company culture video, employee testimonials, picture of the whole team, a slogan, respect for CSR…

Social Media: the use of LinkedIn, Twitter or Facebook has also shaped the way companies recruit. Candidates nowadays spend huge amounts of time surfing through these platforms. They search via employment groups, they get notifications when a new job is posted, they subscribe to your company page… Job Boards or University portals are also a booming source of talent attraction… several companies already use the Multiposting technology helping them to post their vacancies in hundreds of websites with just one click… check it out!

Video Interviews: the traditional CV sending concept has become old-fashioned and frustrating from the candidate’s perspective. What does it mean to send a CV? Will recruiters even read it? Will they take me into account considering that there are other 300 applicants? Allowing candidates to not only send a resume but also record a short video based on the recruiter’s questions will improve your candidate experience. In this way candidates can now present their personality and their motivation to work for your company. This makes them more satisfied in the process and helps HR departments to save huge amounts of time in screening and improve their hiring decision.

Now what are your insights? Thanks for reading :)
