What are the best tips for writing a resume?

A resume is a link between you and the employer to show why you are the company's best hire.

When you apply for jobs online or ready for face-to-face interviews, the first thing you need is a resume. CV or resume summarizes work experience, education details, achievements, and skills, etc.

Your resume is an advertisement copy, and a compelling resume will determine if you get yes or no in the selection.

There are no hard and fast rules for writing a perfect resume but certain things to keep in mind before making a perfect one.

There can be hundreds of people applying for a job. And when the interviewer has so many profiles, they will not have much time to screen the resume application. If your resume application does not offer a quick overview of your profile, the recruiter can easily drop your profile. In a nutshell, your application should be short and should cover all aspects in limited space.

2. Mention Your Portfolio

Every hiring manager is interested in knowing about your achievements, and showing your work portfolio or achievements the best way to attract them. You can show your website or blog if you are going for sales, marketing, or IT-related jobs. And if you are going for a web developer position, you can showcase websites you have made. A hiring manager would love to see examples of completed work.

3. Show Your Relevant Experience

Every time you apply for the job, you should show the most relevant experience first. Yes, it is more work every time, but it's worth it.

4.Highlight Your Achievements

The next tip is when you are listing your job description, you can highlight your achievements, and it would be best if you can showcase numbers of your major achievements. For example, I grew revenue by $100000 in a year, a 22%increase from last year. A hiring manager may not be interested in your duties, but instead, what you accomplished may capture their eyes.

5. Show Your Side Hustles

Many companies look for experience, and what if you don't have any. To get the experience, you have to have a job. In this case, you can showcase what you have learned and implemented on your own. You can learn skills online and create projects, which can later be shown as your learnings. So, to become a web developer, you can take online courses and make your website online.

6.Optimize for Technology

Many companies today scan resumes with technology, and if you don't have relevant skills or keywords on your application, there are chances of the application to get dropped.
