Candidates, friends and all that Jazz

As I am going through my day to day I am faced with what isn't a new discussion with my clients, but something all of us recruiters talk about all the time. The Candidate experience.

This is an important piece of the overall recruiting function, whether your internal, outsourced vendor, or staffing agency, the candidate experience you and your client provide is invaluable. Than I started thinking, the experience our friends and significant others get from us are just as important. We all strive to be great recruiters but we need to strive to be great people.

I explained this to my client, I told them to treat candidates like they would want to be treated. High response, timeliness, kindness, informing them of the current status of the position. We wouldn't want to be set to meet a friend and have a no call no show, or wonder what happened to that meeting?

Keep the integrity in the candidate experience, make sure they are heard, and you keep them well informed. Than when it's time for offer they are more likely to accept.

Keep your "A" game on for both candidate and life and you will have a fulfilling experience!
