Seems that several lobbyists managed to convince the House to insert Buy American - initially prohibiting the purchase of foreign iron and steel for any infrastructure project in the bill. Not only does Obama's bill smell like a pig sty because all of the pork in the bill but if many of the trades had their way, steel wouldn't be the only product or service covered by Buy American provisions.

Any protectionism by our government will lead to backlashes by other countries...Both China and India are considering huge infrastructure projects: Imagine them doing these without US steel. There goes the GDP!

What's next for US companies? Recruit American only?
