Man, this is exciting! I'm glad to be in this community with recruiters of similar ilk and to have space to share developments from my start-up in its early stages! It's an interesting ride, for sure.

Some background:
I am an independent recruiter based in NYC, specializing in New Media. As an independent recruiter, I depend a lot on my networks to source candidates. I came to the conclusion that communicating with my networks could be made a lot easier and less time consuming. Additionally, I tested a couple split networks and I got the feeling of jumping into an "ocean of unknown." So, I was inspired me to create The Hire Syndicate .

The Hire Syndicate in a nutshell:
The Hire Syndicate is a web-based application for split-minded recruiters, who create Pods with colleagues they know and trust. Recruiters upload open requisitions as well as candidates in their account and from there, post jobs to Pods and forward candidates for consideration (candidate contact information is withheld). It’s a platform for split recruiting where open requisitions all "live" in one place. And we've built extensions for real time recruiting - our desktop Widget and iPhone app provide instant alerts for any new activity. A BlackBerry app is also under development. We're currently in beta and are working towards a Q3 2010 release. Feel free to check us out at: www.thehiresyndicate.com

Phew! So, this is my current project ON TOP OF recruiting. Product development and QA testing, business strategy, and basic project management makes for 18-hour days, but ones I relish. It seems to be paying off - thus far in 2010, we’ve been very lucky to receive some notable recognition: our iPhone app was recently named one of the ‘Top 7 Recruiting Apps of 2010’ by TheTalentBuzz.com and featured in the AIRS January newsletter. Lastly, we’re also demo’ing the platform tonight at the NY Recruiting Network Meetup, details here: http://bit.ly/66TgS4.

Until next time…

P.S. Be our friends! We're on twitter linkedin meetup facebook
