Client Not Paying Me- Suggestions Please

I met with my new Travel client 4 months ago in NYC, the appointment was set up by email.
The meeting went well so I thought, they needed my services they are a small French.Travel Agency.
This was strange she did not call me on the phone, I like to talk on the phone at least once before a meeting.
I decided to take a chance and meet her so I did.
She made me link to her Facebook account before the placement was made she contacted me mostly by email. I thought it was nice so we are now connected I see her posts and pictures.
....................................
I emailed her 2x with my invoice right after each email in one day.
I wanted to be sure she got the invoice.
She responded why emailed 2x.
The fee was due April 18, 2010. Any suggestions on how to get paid?
I called several times to see how the new person was doing the client did not respond. I contacted the applicant she is happy on the job.

1. Be persistent.
2. Be firm but polite.
3. Follow Up with emails, and mail them a letter with a reminder (with proof of delivery).
4. Talk to a lawyer about steps you need to take to begin building a legal case, as a last option.
