Recruiter Giving Blog Credit

We each write a blog for our individual or corporate purpose.

I love writing but tend to use blogs for summary of issues and to generate ideas and commentary from others. I prefer positive posts or topics that will help me or others consider process improvement. I don't enjoy the sales pitch or those that judge people they don't know or rant and rave. I am not consistent in my blogs because my interest are as varied and conceptual as my time to write. I don't pretend to have deeper knowledge than others in our fields, or expertise that is beyond my means but I do like to share what I have learned or insights to help us as a profession grow. In short I blog and read blogs because I like to share and receive.

I receive an abundance from this network. Working from home it is a channel that helps me connect with my industry on a regular basis as I research new talent or creative ways to staff large companies and match candidates with careers. I am amazed at the great blogs in this social network and I want to thank all of you that contribute. I'm thankful for the regular contributors and bloggers like Maureen Sharib and Glenn Gutmacher (great colleague) that regularly share their wisdom. I also appreciate the commentary and attention I receive from people whom you may not know their names but yet they always add incredible insight. I even recognize a few with different or contradictory opinions as I believe we are stronger with diversity in our network.

I appreciate all of you because without this network I think our profession would be a little less knowledgeable. Thank you for blogging.

I am better for having known you, as well as Maureen (happy to have gotten to see her during SourceCon DC a month ago - one reason I wasn't able to make the AOEP event, which also would've been great), and quite a few others who are great sharers. The people who hoard are only limiting themselves; I believe it's a more-you-give-more-you-get situation. Coincidentally, I was speaking to a sourcer/recruiter looking for work who had reached out to me. He had a bit of that fear-of-losing-my-competitive-edge-if-I-share mentality. I tried to convince him otherwise; we'll see what happens...
