Ever wonder what recruiting and placement are like here in Hawaii? Be glad to share with you some of the highs and other wise experiences. Most of it good...sure is different from the Los Angeles Wilshire District office I used to work in...but I would not trade for anything. Here we are candidate rich and job order O.K....not like in Southern California but plenty to handle. Be good to chat with anyone out there on the Mainland or elsewhere....

HI Lee,
Your post caught my eye. I was just in Kauai w/my family on a NCL cruise. Love the island, is my husbands favorite! Have fun!

Hi Lee,
I have been plotting and scheming to get to Hawaii and work my desk there. I have my own biz focused in construction. I am based in Asheville NC and most of my clients are in Chicago. Any pointers on how to make the leap over to Hawaii? I was thinking Honolulu but would love a more tranquil setting like n shore & Maui as well. Any tips would be greatly appreciated. thanks, Bart

Aloha Barton: Nice to hear from you. The way we work here is out of virtual offices so our recruiters work where ever they wish..even from the Mainland. My Construction desk is now non-existent and it is one of our best areas of employment here. There is very little recruiting here since our employment pool is so limited so our growth here is fed from Mainland or other sources. All of these come from our Web Site which is dominant for the Hawaii market. We get more first class resumes than we can handle.

Thanks Lee. Any advice on moving to the islands. I miss surfing as I grew up on the Outer Banks of NC but always had that little dream of living in Hawaii.

If you could handle doing splits on projects...we have good resumes that we could supply you with...i.e can they do the job, will they do job, will they fit into the company AND will they adapt and settle into Hawaii...!!! Our construction business here is good compared to most places but we are feeling a pinch...soon to be over I hope...Once the market stabilizes there will be a flurry of activity here... Send me a resume to: hawaii@hawaiicareers.com and we can brainstorm...
