I get so frustrated with "your reply must be approved" on blogs....

Nothing bugs me more than entering a comment only to find the blog is moderated and my comment must be approved.

Do you want conversation?  If so - conversation is the free flow of dialogue.  That means - you say something, I say something, you reply, I reply and so on.

If you moderate your blog here - it more or less says "I am here to tell you what I think" which is not the way a thriving community continues to grow.

Thank you.

I'll assume I have not made myself clear - and give it another shot:  When I read a blog here, put together a comment, hit the "Add Comment" button - nothing pisses me off more than finding out my comment will now be reviewed by the blogger.

If you are here for conversation - let's have a conversation.  If you are not - then please state somewhere in your blog "I am not going to allow comments that disagree with this post - so save your energy" or something to that effect.

This has nothing to do with Shwabel.  It has everything to do with community and discussion.

What Jerry said.

Duly noted. And since recruitingblogs does such a good job of spam filtering, the "await moderation" option should be removed.

Sandra, funny you should mention that.  If you notice when following that blog it may not be about ego or hits, but ADVERTISEMENTS.  If when you go to that new blog by following a link and there's an ad there, you just contributed to their impression revenue.

So I just dug up some "real" info on source of hire, etc.  I've posted an unmoderated blog on the (continuing) subject:  Here it is.

WAIT, I get it, if you email someone on Monster for a job, and you aren't the ACTUAL hiring manager (read 3rd party agency or independent recruiter) than you have actually hired someone through networking.  SEE look here is definition from Wikipedia here.  It's awesome

Business networking is a socioeconomic activity by which groups of like-minded businesspeople recognize, create, or act upon business opportunities http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Business_networking

OH WAIT THERES MORE.  Monster has started to to include social media information and linked links from people's profiles, and these are SOCIAL MEDIA, therefore I am going to say 100%%%% of my own hires are from SOCIAL MEDIA NETWORKING.  There Jerry debunk that myth.

I'm sorry to go off on a tangent but that 80% is just as much rubbish to me as well, and I'll post it here so people don't moderate me for having a dissenting opinion against A QUOTED FIGURE from another source because he isn't here to defend it, You know I fully encourage someone to find this Schwabel figure and invite him here or to Animal's show for a discussion, let him defend it himself.

Please, give me a break, I'll moderate you because some guy who's obviously too busy to give a s*&t about what you think or say won't come on here to defend it

@nate It would be nice to see Dan Schwabel as a guest on the @animal show, but after the foofala (phoophalla? foo.. never mind) uproar that he cause when he called recruiters lazy, I'm not sure he'd agree. To be fair to Dan though, the 80% number has been floating around since he was in kindergarten, and is mentioned in nearly every "how to find a job" book that's been published in the past 15 years.

@Jerry, don't want to burst your bubble, gunslinger, but the "real" info you just discovered was already posted, by moi (casually shines nails on lapel) last week, on the blog that you got nickers-knotted over.

Karen - I no longer participate in "managed" blogs here.  So whatever you've (allegedly) posted there has not made it to my eyes.  Are you saying you quoted Crispin?  If so - then congrats.  If not - then what are you saying?

Note:  I did not say I "discovered" anything.  I was simply citing a source of reliable info.  Perhaps you "discovered" what Gerry said before I did.  If so - great job.  Can we call you "Scoop" from now on?

As long as it isn't preceded by "Poop n' "
