Derek Zeller Returns - To The Recruiting Animal Show

Our good friend, Derek Zeller, the @DerDiver returned to The Recruiting Animal Show today as a guest and, as a pleasant surprise, long lost former regular @MaureenSharib came back as well. In fact, she took some of Derek's time at the start of the show to talk about her new idea: a voice judging program.

She read an article that says people judge you by your voice so she wants to judge people's voices on-air and tell them how they can improve. She brought her friend, Pam, with her who used to be a DJ at WKRQ in Cincinatti and she judged the voice of another friend of the show, @That_Rcrtr_Guy, Alejandro.

Then we moved onto Derek. I asked him if he used some of the hot new sourcing tools. Then I asked him a few of Lou Adler's performance measurement questions for recruiters. And then we talked about whether recruiters who work for big companies are lazy.

We also talked about selling to candidates. I had a tough time dragging nitty-gritty info out of the guest on that one though and I lost a few listeners while the struggle was going on but, you know, that happens on every show.

Good old Jerry was on the road but he called in from Nehez's office in Detroit and then again while he was going through 8 Mile. A disruptive force as usual. Other info: My intro was about karma and after Maureen's segment she decided to whisper into the phone while I was speaking to Derek. It sounded like she was adding numbers and saying the subtotals out loud so she could remember them.

Good times. However the exorcist thing was a little weird, even for your show. Thank God this was not at night.
