Thanks for everything, we're laying you off

So here's the deal: There are a lot of people facing lay offs these days, and as of last Wednesday, I am in the same unfortunate boat, which for a lot of us has a hole in it and is already filled with a lot of water, especially during the holidays. I thought, well if this is going to happen, I may as well share the experience on my blog since there are a lot of emotions involved, and it may be helpful for some of you out there.

So I will be posting daily logs on the following things, and I am sure I will learn more as I go with this:

The emotions involved
The economy and how hard is it really to find a job
What I am doing to find a job (where I post, who I talk to, etc)
What kind of offers I am getting
Eventually my new career!

So, stay tuned for my exciting real-life experience and comments would be GREATLY appreciated and welcomed!

Steve, best of luck out there - I admire your spirit and think it's great that you are using this unfortunate event as an opportunity to help out other folks in the same situation. Go get 'em!

Steve, have you looked at Recruiting101.com It's a job board that is part of RecruitingBlogs.com for recruiting and HR positions. I just checked it and it says there are about 800 positions.

Steve, what would you like to do even if you weren't being paid to do it? Looking for something that causes great joy and mirth.

Hey Steve, join the club. I was told the same unfortunate news.
A recruiting opportunity comes out and everyone is fighting over it; just for the company to tell you that the position has been placed on hold, possibly until January 09.
Too many of us out there are facing lay offs. Stay positive, better things will come our way!
