Prejudice, Lack of Initiative and Thank You Amitai Givertz

I happened to be speaking to Ami this morning.

I told him that ning changed the music player on RBC.

There used to be a little arrow beside each listing.
If you clicked it the song would open up in a new window
and you could copy the url and link to it from another site.

That arrow had been replaced by a scroll bar.

Ami clicked on the Edit link below the music player.
He saw that each entry there had a little arrow beside
it that worked the same way the arrows I had been using did.

Of course, I had been on the Edit page at least a hundred times but I didn't
think of exploring it. Ami had never been there so he did.

Problem solved.

Then he told me that I could download the entire list of audio clips
using the Download Them All extension for Firefox.

(I'd lost the originals in a computer crash on the weekend).

Now I had downloaded that Firefox extension before but assumed
that it would take a lot of time to figure out how to use it.

But, as we spoke, he was telling me that he was downloading all of the files
with a click of a button. So I downloaded the extension again
and had a new copy of every file on my own computer in a few minutes.

It was like a miracle.

My problem was a lack of initiative.
I assumed that the Edit page didn't have what I needed
and that Download Them All would be a burden to figure out.

Both assumptions were wrong so the solution to my problems were
easily within my grasp. I knew the territory well. The only thing holding
me back was my own prejudice.

Interesting. That thing we all have swimmin' 'round inside our heads holds many of us back. Thanks for sharing.

Here's somethin' poetic:

Maureen I wasn't even arranging mine. Terrible isn't it.

Animal, thanks for the love.
