We are still a long way off closing the gender pay gap despite the fact that progress has been made over the last four decades, those looking to outsource recruitment agency timesheet management may be interested to hear.

According to the Trades Union Congress (TUC), girls have been achieving better results than boys in education for over ten years now, but this is yet to fully translate into the workplace.

The imbalance can only be addressed by "lifting the veil of secrecy around pay, better valuing work traditionally done by women and increasing the availability of high quality part-time and flexible working", said a spokesperson of the TUC.

She made the comments in the wake of a report by Grazia Magazine, which revealed that less than 50 per cent of women polled admitted to earning either more or as much as their partners.

Females in the recruitment industry could make more money by setting up their own companies, which can be strengthened by outsourcing back office requirements such as timesheet management and invoice financing.
