Unskilled workers could be negatively affected by training budget cuts, according to the Trades Union Congress (TUC), which may interest those trying to set up a recruitment agency.

The TUC asserts that there is already a large divide in the amount of training given to unskilled workers as opposed to graduate employees - which is something that will increase following training budget cuts.

While the cuts come as part of the drive to reduce government spend, the TUC fears that it will increase the gap in skills between British workers and those overseas and thereby hinder economic recovery.

Brendan Barber, TUC General Secretary, commented: "Spending cuts to training will hit the most vulnerable and damage prospects of a viable economic recovery."

Last month, Manpower Inc conducted a study which revealed developed countries are suffering a shortage of skilled workers.
