Ok, Here's the situation. I currently work with a mid level size staffing agency with about 5 recruiters, and a few sales people.

We currently utilize what I believe to be an archaic ATS that is part of a larger recruiting package and I am looking to upgrade to stay at the top of our game.

Issue is I get bombarded with advertisements from organizations looking for us to upgrade to an ASP model, but our owner refuses to buy into this technology. I don't blame him, but I'll save this argument for another day.

I am looking for an ATS system that is software based that we can host on our own networks, from a firm that continues to develop its product (sorry PCRecruiter) and is staying maybe not on the cutting edge but pretty close to some of the AI capabilities of the ASP model based products.

Anyone have any ideas or suggestions?

Hi Nate,

CBiz has a stand alone product. I used it for several years before switching to their hosted ASP model. The stand alone one is cheaper per desk too, under $50. www.cbizsoft.com

The on-premise vs SaaS battle is already over. If your owner is not even considering the SaaS products then your firm is going to end up with another dinosaur. The SaaS vendors will contracually protect your data, offer stable uptime and they are going to way more innovative and easier to use that the on-premise software you can buy today.

You alleviate your fear of SaaS by finding a couple of vendors and allowing them to address your concerns. These guys are going to be the most innovative. Look at their products, way more thoughtful than the legacy vendors that still try to install software are your shop.

Check out Maxhire, and Bullhorm - good stuff. They go head to head in deals all the time. Bullhorn is in Boston too.
Allison, thanks for your kind words, But there are products out there, and I have received emails in regards to them. Too many SaaS services are run by our competitors, and I have spoken with them, and have not been persuaded out of our model. As I stated in my original email, I didn't want to have this debate, I appreciate everyone else who has made suggestions or written me emails, thanks!
