Once upon a time, phone calls were made and received on time. And all was good in the land. The flowers bloomed and potential clients agreed to pay a retainer. In a land not so far away, offer letters were as good as gold and professional references weren't in back pockets. Inconceivable. Back pockets held only handkerchiefs that candidates used to wipe their brows during their last panel interview during a seven-hour day on-site. In a twinkling of an eye, hiring managers signed requisitions that ensured an in-house recruiter's job for another month. A carriage arrives, and out steps the fairest placement in the land. All because a recruiter believed.

Inconceivable, you say? Not so, fair lads and maidens, not so. The enchanted world of search and recruiting is still enchanted. Searches abound and job opps lurk. Indeed.com (a job board aggregator) boasts 763,287 new jobs posted within the last seven days. Certain recruiters have stated they are busier than ever. True? Or is the optimism merely a fairy tale?
Let's pray it is a fairy tale. They all end happily ever after, don't they?


We each carry a story, some greater than others, and some desperate, some sweet.
