As of last night, RecruitingBlogs.com can have chat back on the main page like before Ning made the decision to take it away. I think all networks that had significant chat going on had to figure things out quick and then chat on RecruitingBlogs.com was no chat on RecruitingBlogs.com

I tried putting it back on last night and you know, I just didn't like it at all. The only place it works is way down on the page and then since it's at the bottom of the page, it's easier to get to the chat that is already here by clicking the chat tab in the blue menu bar or looking at the bottom right of your browser.

I know it's a community so it makes sense to have the chat right at the top and if there was chat activity around the clock, it would make sense. So then I thought under the member pictures and this meant having the forum discussions pushed down and I know for sure I would have gotten no sleep last night if I would have done that. The chat will never be more important than the forum discussions and blog posts

So I don't know what to do about it but to tell you the truth, I am starting to like this site a whole lot more lately based on the way I am seeing the content overall and it's making me want to contribute more so for me, the site is working. I get my chat fix when I need it by going to twitter because it's way better for that.

Most people I suspect have no interest at all in any of the chat stuff but they do enjoy the content or a two day "wtf" is going on here every once in a while. Then it's back to work.

I think that good targeted chat sessions are good and can be organized in a better medium no matter how good the chat here on RecruitingBlogs.com gets. Having said this, I know that many liked the chat system right near the top or close to it.

I am not sure what to do so for now I am going to do nothing about it and wait a week. I am open to suggestions about it because I know it did work well and provided a lot of reason to spend a lot of time involved with the site. I was telling Jerry Albright yesterday the thing I like most now about the new layout is that I can see all the exits. It's no longer like the floor of a casino.

Thanks also for increased lookout for spam. I received a number of emails and they flow on a much more regular basis since i wrote this post. Thanks for that.
