Would anyone be willing to share some knowledge regarding there language and approach to cold calling for candidates?
i am a 10 year recruiter, but i am ashamed to say i haven't been cold calling consistantly for years and have to now start doing it heavily again and totally lost.
Any help would be greatly appreciated.

This guy has the best information on the "how to's" of cold calling:

http://www.businessbyphone.com/

As for recruiter- specific scripts and pitches, just sit there and think of why you would pick up the phone to begin with..you're the recruiter, just adapt you and what you want to present, to what you learn from the website.

Conversations work better than canned responses. You'll probably take to it again like a duck to water, once you get past the "I haven't done this in so long" mental block.

Cold Calling Script for Voicemail, provided by Bob Bentz, President of ATS Mobile and Purplegator

Hello, __________. This is Bob Bentz with ATS Mobile.

The reason for my call is I have an idea on how to possibly help you improve the troublesome process of recruiting employees, especially nurses.  I wanted to see if it would make sense for us to have a quick conversation to find out more about it.

I can be reached at ___________.

First Contact:
“Hello, ____________ ?”
“My name is__________. We haven’t talked before… / You and I don’t know each
other…”
“But your name came across my desk earlier today, and I needed to talk with you about
something I’m working on. Do you have a second?”
Or
“You and I have a common friend in ___ and he suggested I give you a call. Do you have
a second?”
“I work for ABC Search Consultants. We specialize in recruiting high performers in the
widget industry. One of our clients has engaged us in a search, and I think your
background fits what I’m looking for. I wanted to just touch base with you, Joe, to make
and introduction and to see if you are open to hearing about other things. What are
your thoughts about that?”
Are they qualified?
“Give me a thirty second overview of your background, like how long you’ve been in
the industry, been with your company, what sort of projects you’ve worked on.”

Again, my name is Bob Bentz with ATS Mobile at ___________.
