    Katrina,

I wanted to quickly touch base with you regarding a retained search that I'll most likely be taking on starting next week with a client in NC. They are looking to move very quickly to locate a SAP HR Project Manager (perm) and as we both know these people are A. hard to find & B. Expensive. I thought I touch base in advance to see if you are open to split business and be interested in hearing more about the job & the details when I put the deal together.

Let me know either way and please check out my page here on recruitingblogs or our blog site at www.thevoiceofit.com

    Sincerely,

    Katrina,

My answer to your Market Rates for Cleared SAP Pros question:

    Types of Clearances:
    SCI: Special Compartmentalized Intelligence
    SI: Special Intelligence
    Crypto: Cryptography
    TS: Top Secret
    S: Secret
    C: Confidential

Most SAP positions that require clearances require only low level clearances; C or S. Generally, whenever someone makes a move from one role that requires clearance to another, if they are deemed to be "clearable", their provisional clearance is given within a matter of weeks, and the process begins anew whenever they go to a new position. So there is nothing special about having a low level clearance, these folks may be hired for a little more, but they would not necessarily be a higher rate than say a Green Card SAP individual with the same skills. So the answer is a "little better" on a case by case basis depending on the demand in the spot market. But generally the quality of his SAP skills would have a greater impact than the fact that he is clearable.

Higher level security clearances; TS, SI, and SCI; are a different matter. These are hard to come by and are more easily transferred than begun anew. People who have these clearances know they are valuable and so there can be said to be a higher "market rate". However there are generally so few roles requiring such high level clearance that they can't really be said to affect the market.

Expenses are treated to be the same, meaning depending what the client wants.

If you have any follow-up clearance-related questions please send me an e-mail to: VirtualSourcer@comcast.net . . . All the Best!

I am the Senior Recruiter with a government contractor. I am very interested in IT recruiting but have very little IT background. Do you have any advice on how to get my foot in the door?

Sorry for the slow response, but the client decided not to hire for the HR manager position. However, they are working on multiple FTE SAP positions here in NC and I'll call you to discuss them if you thinks you might be able to assist. No visa candidates, no contractors and no contract to perm. Needs include BW, FI/CO, WM/MM & Portal developer.
