Thanks Mike, for your honest comment to my recent blog posting. I do hope others also share their experiences. Ours have been identical to yours.
So tell me, how do you see business this year and next? Unfortunately, we were heavily invested in a national Telco who went VMS (thus my agony described in the blog). I've been at this for 13 years and I'm usually the optimist in the group - having weathered many recessions. But this one seems to have knocked the wind out of me.
Anyway - enjoy the rest of your day and let's continue the dialogue! Robin.
The contracting/consulting arena is getting very difficult for the small operators. The only success I have been having is when I partner with a bigger player. I see the market for Technical resources continuing to be bullish but the number of players is getting cut down. I have turned my focus to Permanent Engineering positions. These positions are still mostly filled by domestic talent and the permanent status makes my value as a recruiter much more important. I don't like the body shop feel of the VMS contracting model
I noticed you are in Atlanta, as am I. Wanted to connect and share thoughts on the state of the market (I am seeing a definite slowdown). Ping me when you can - thanks!
