Can you do some recruiting work for me on a part time or full time basis?

Can you do some recruiting work for me on a part time or full time basis?
I can give you a script. What else do you need? You can earn more money doing this work than almost anything else you may be doing now.

I need help in finding job listings for my high level executives who have earned $100,000 to $500,000 or more in the past and are seeking new challanges in the future. All of these candidates have high net worth's of $1M to $40M or more. If you can talk to presidents or CEOs, you can do this work. If you are not a recruiter but you are interested in doing recruiting work on a full or part time basis, I can provide training and a script if you want to work with me or pass this on to someone you think might be willing to do this type of work. It is a small world and you never know when you can help someone or someone can help you.

Even though I am 72 and no one would hire me anymore for an executive position, I used to earn $1M-$5M a year in gross commissions managing money for Shearson Lehman Brothers and 50 independent broker dealers nationwide--or for some clients of stockbrokers of 50 independent broker dealers. But when the stock market crashed around 2000 and 2001, I quit the business and began working full time as an executive recruiter although I started doing some recruiting of stockbrokers as early as 1994 when I retired from Smith Barney.

I am trying to figure out a way to get back to earning $1M-5M again and it may be that by working with someone like you who can get me job listings for my 1,000+ high net worth candidates who have run start ups to Fortune 500 companies, both of us can make a lot of money. Please give me a call or respond to this e-mail with your contact information and/bio or resume and I will call you.

This is not just some run of the mill split fee assignment you might want to work on. It is unique in that if you work with me to find job listings for my executives, both of us could make a lot more money in residual income that you could ever make in making individual placements which you are doing now day in and day out. Once you get an account, all of the placements I make with that account would be done on a split fee basis with you for as long as I work with the account.

Please call me or send me your contact information and I will be pleased to give you all the information you need regarding how you would go about getting job listings so you can decide whether or not you want to work with me. No, this is not net work marketing nor is it a pyramid scheme. Be assured that this is a very good business opportunity for the right candidates to be in a position where they will be selling a service to large corporations that sorely need what is being offered to them.

I have to agree with Slouch, why make things harder than they have to be? If you only charge 10%, you're leaving 200% on the table, and when executives are used to paying 30-35%, the perception could be and most likely will be that something is missing in what you offer, and then paying it out over two years, it just seems like you are taking all the risk for what amounts to 1/3 of a normal fee.

People who do very well in this industry find ways to maximize their efforts, to leverage their networks, so that they can do more with less effort. If you spread your payments over a two year period, you then have worry about collections or companies going out of business, or your person leaving at some point in that two year period. Seems like a lot of work for a much smaller reward. You could make one 200k placement at 60k fee in a month vs. six splits at 10%, and then wait two years instead of 30 days to see the money.

But, who knows, if it works for you that's really all that matters!
Pam, well put :) Slouch, wonderfully said :) It comes down to how each of define success.

George, you're reading the right book - In fact, I'm a huge fan of it as well. Please let me offer a suggestion that will leverage some of the knowledge in the book:

Perhaps your differentiation doesn't have to come in the form of your pricing and fee structure, but more in the way of your particular service offering itself. Cirque de Soleil didn't just want to just differentiate on pricing relative to movie theaters and the circus . . . they wanted to create a new experience . . .

Innovative pricing is nice, however not often enough to shift a paradigm (or simply raise eyebrows outside the Finance function). In fact, 'over-innovating' on pricing will likely result in exactly the opposite of what you're trying to accomplish (as stated by Slouch and Pam).

If you're consulting/conversating with CEOs and are assisting not only with talent acquisition, but also leading brainstorming sessions, I'd suggest visiting detaching your brand from solely executive search.

How about charging a monthly retainer that covers items from exec search to consulting to brainstorming? Or charge a monthly retainer for consulting/brainstorming . . . with an additional spiff for any VP+ level fills? Or as mentioned before, how about considering representing Angel Investors that want to "get back in the game" for a startup? After a month or two off, many high net-worth retirees weren't that they weren't quite ready to retire!

At the end of my day, my suggestion is along the lines of stimulating innovation thought outside the pricing model only.
This is in reply to Slouch , Pam and Joshua. I appreciate all of your comments but we seem to be talking to each other when I really wanted to reach out to independent recruiters who may be interested in working with me on my program to market high net worth executives to CEOs who will value my offer to work with them. This does work and I am getting contracts now. I do expect to do a very large business over time. I am busy now trying to find a few recruiters who may agree with my way of doing business and if any are out there and contact me, I would be willing to send them my contract and more information on how we would work together. Slouch, I noticed that my contact info was deleted from my last email. Is there a reason for that? Please show my direct contact info to see if any independent recruiters may be interested in sending me their bios and/or contact info so we can talk directly. I do not think we need to continue any more discussions on other ways I can do business when what I am proposing seems to work for me right now. Thanks for all the advice.

George, I promise I did not delete anything from your posts.
That is fine. I noticed that my contact info was still on my original posting. It does not seem that I am getting any interest so I guess I will just sign off. How many recruiters see this info? I have never used blogs before. I seem to be having much better responses from executive seeking high paying jobs who are out of work and feel that they have extensive CEO contacts they would be willing to contact. I am sorry that I did not get the response I thought I might get from independent recruiters but one never knows. Thanks for everything.
I do have my own IT Staffing company, started last year December. Looking to tie-up with few good companies. We do source for both IT and Non-IT Clients in USA. We work with major telecom, financials, pharma, trading and federal clients.
I do have team of 15 recruiters back in India who help for all my client and vendor reqs here in USA. Also we have very big set-up back in India were we can accomodate 80-100 consultants at a time, that i want to use for any software development or processes. If you can use your recruiters in India to contact large numbers of executve level candidates to fill an executive level position in this country, I have an email message you can use to send out to them and if they do not call you back first you can call them to go over what is said in the email to them and most of the candidates you talk to will show an interest in wanting to interview for the position. I need to place 1,000 candidates over the next several years so if this work interests you, we should talk directly. I will call you.
